The Kennel Club is sad to announce that Kathryn Mansfield, Kennel Club Secretary, will be retiring from her role in December 2022.
Kathryn joined The Kennel Club as a Junior Secretary in the shows department 46 years ago in June 1976. Over the years, Kathryn’s career and role in the organisation grew where she managed the Canine Activities Team for many years, and in 2019 became Kennel Club Secretary.
Said Kathryn; “I have very much enjoyed my time at The Kennel Club and feel privileged to have been part of the organisation for all of my working life. I am especially pleased to have been involved in the start of the Good Citizen Dog Training scheme and The Kennel Club Accredited Instructors scheme, both so central to the welfare of dogs, contributing to a good start in life. Added to which I was project manager for The Kennel Club Building at Stoneleigh Park. Also, watching and where I could guiding members of staff to grow and progress in their Kennel Club careers has been a particular pleasure.
“I have seen many changes during my time here, of course, some quite challenging. However, it is the goodwill of all involved, from the staff to the committees, who work tirelessly for The Kennel Club which has made me very proud to have played a role in making a difference for dogs.”
Said Tony Allcock OBE, Chairman of The Kennel Club; “It is with great sadness that The Kennel Club is losing Kathryn. Kathryn has played a huge part in the history of The Kennel Club through her time spent working for the Club. Kathryn’s tireless dedication to her role and her expertise is going to be very much missed by all that work with her and we wish her all the best with her retirement.”
